Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust has an exciting opportunity for a Pay & Employee Services Officer to join its busy Pay & Employee Services Department.

The Pay and Employee Services department provides a full range of Payroll and Pensions related services to both the Trust and to a number of other NHS Organisations, along with managing the Trusts' workforce systems including eRostering and ESR and the Trust's Employee Benefits offerings.

You will be responsible for processing a dedicated section of Payroll within one of our Client Trust's and managing the end to end process for all employees within that section, including processing new starters, changes to contract, leavers etc. The role will include complex manual calculations in respect of gross to net pay and attention to detail will be essential.

You will be working with the national integrated HR and Payroll System, ESR and will we be able to demonstrate an understanding of NHS Terms and conditions and the NHS Pension Scheme. You will have had experience of working within a busy payroll department previously.

Customer service is an important part of the role and candidates must have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate delivery of effective Customer Service.

Main duties of the job

To work within the Pay and Employee Services Team to ensure the delivery and provision of a comprehensive, cost effective and efficient service to STH and other client organisations.

Interpret, verify and input confidential employee information into the integrated Payroll and HR system, ESR - complying with internal and external deadlines, in order to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.

To act as the point of contact for both clients and employees to provide technical advice, information and support on highly complex pay issues, terms and conditions and statutory regulations.

To be responsible for the processing of an allocated workload within strict time and quality restraints whilst ensuring that correct procedures are followed and that statutory and legislative requirements are applied and maintained.

Essential:
