Job summary

Nuffield Health Leeds Hospital is seeking a General Hospital Porter to support patient care and maintain a safe, clean environment. You'll assist with patient transfers, manage waste streams and security, and help with car park access.

This full-time, permanent role requires good communication, physical fitness for lifting and moving equipment, and the ability to work as part of a Facilities Team. DBS checks apply, and benefits include gym membership, health assessments and pension options.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform physical tasks and assist with patient transfers.
• Ability to push beds and lift equipment safely.
• Good communication with patients, visitors and staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage waste streams (clinical, domestic, recycling, special).
• Carry out security checks (opening/closing, ad hoc).
• Control access to the car park.
• Manage patient transfers between departments.
• Handle internal and external post, including recording usage by third parties.
• Maintain external environment and car park to a high standard.
• Support Porter Team Leader and Facilities Team to meet service levels.
