We are looking for a candidate with Primary Careexperience and EMIS web experience.

We are looking for a creative, proficient, andmotivated individual who wishes to develop in a forward-thinking,family-focused practice.

To support our triager each day in all manner ofadministrative tasks associated with booking appointments to fill clinicalsessions for GPs and HCPs.

Our practice boasts regulars team meetings, stafflunches and a host of activities to be involved in within the wider community,amongst the team, and through volunteering opportunities.

Main duties of the job

The right candidate will have experience in PrimaryCare and must be proficient with EMIS

The right candidate will have a friendly mannerwhen talking with patients and will work to go the extra mile in helping thepatients with their needs.

The role is to work in Patient Services who handleall administrative tasks associated with patient care. Responsibilitiesinclude, though are not limited to: greeting and booking in patients on theFront Desk, directing patients, signposting, patient registration, bookingappointments, processing of information (electronic and hard copy), andassisting patients as required.

Toact as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution ofinformation, messages, and inquiries for the clinical team, liaising withmultidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care andcommunity service providers

We have a large Patient Services team providingall manner of administration support for our healthcare professionals,including a medical secretary and document coders.

Job responsibilities

Job Description

To provide an efficient and effective serviceto patients. To support the practice team in their efforts to deliver apatient-focused, high-quality clinical service to our patients incorporatingonline services and face-to-face services where appropriate.

Opening andClosing Duties

Work on a rota basis tocover early shifts and extended access late shifts.

Book appointments

Manage general inquiriesfrom patients

Support the issuing ofprescriptions.

Welcome patients to thePractice

Liaise with other providerson behalf of patients and clinicians such as hospitals.

Receive and record requestsfor home visits appropriately and accurately.

IT & Computer

To input requiredinformation onto the computer, including registrations and deductions.

To enter newly registeredpatient's details onto the computer and keep registrations up to date.

Process change of addressforms by transferring new data onto the computer.

Recall patients to thesurgery by letter following their results or hospital visits as requested bythe doctors.

Ensure that the Doctor'srooms are kept stocked

When possible, cover forabsent colleagues

Start and End of DayProcedures (depending on hours worked)

If first to arrive, open uppremises at the start of the day, dealing with alarm and make all necessary preparationsto receive patients.

Make sure the front shutteris open and the glass front doors are unlocked

Ensure that the telephonesystem is operational at the beginning of the day.

If you are the lastreceptionist to leave the premises, ensure that the two patio fire doors arelocked, the front shutter is down and the glass front doors are locked.

At the end of the day ensurethat the reception area is left tidy and ready for incoming colleagues,together with information regarding unsolved or urgent problems.

Training - stay up to datewith all compulsory and additional training requirements communicated to youthrough your line manager.

Be prepared to receivein-house or course training as and when necessary. If there are other areas ofinterest or significance where you would like training please discuss with thePractice Manager.

Any other duties which maybe required and agreed with the Practice Manager.
