The post holder will support the incident and serious incident components of the Corporate Nursing and Integrated Governance Team, ensuring robust application of Trust governance processes, policies, and procedures.
The main purpose of this role is to assist the organisation in delivering a strong incident management process, learning from incidents, and following the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework by:
- Facilitating incident reporting and management processes
- Supporting serious incident investigations
- Contributing to the wider work of the patient safety team
Main duties of the job
- Communicate effectively with staff, external clients, patients, and families regarding routine and complex information, maintaining confidentiality where necessary.
- Provide administrative support to the Patient Safety Team, including typing, processing correspondence, data input, and maintaining electronic filing systems.
- Organise meetings, including booking rooms and taking minutes or notes.
- Assist staff with queries and training needs related to patient safety systems.
- Support external reporting to systems like LFPSE.
- Highlight potential serious incidents to the Patient Safety Team.
- Maintain and update safety systems as required.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- GSCE or higher
- NVQ in Business and Administration Level 2 or above
Experience
- Previous NHS experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email systems
- Experience dealing sensitively with challenging patients or families
- Experience with data quality checking
- Experience using patient safety management systems like Ulysses or Datix
- Experience organising multidisciplinary meetings
Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Ability to organise and prioritise tasks
- Understanding of hospital administrative structures
