Job description

The Patient Safety team is part of the Trust's Clinical Governance Team, responsible for setting the strategic direction for patient safety, delivering reactive and proactive patient safety improvement work, and providing education and training to support front-line staff.

The Patient Safety Clinical Coordinator will organize and coordinate the Trust's Rapid Review Process and trust-wide patient safety learning events, working closely with the patient safety team, senior leadership team, and external stakeholders.

The role involves providing support to the patient safety team, working in line with the Patient Safety Incident and Response Framework (PSIRF) and relevant trust policies, and delivering the Organization's patient safety agenda.

Main duties of the job
  • Support the organization with trust-wide patient safety learning events.
  • Facilitate events or forums for discussing patient safety topics on a weekly basis.
  • Promote a culture of learning, patient safety, and quality improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Produce high-level reports on patient safety events and learning responses.
  • Maintain the patient safety events page and coordinate responses to safety alerts.
  • Coordinate student placements and provide cross-cover in the Clinical Governance Team as required.
  • Work on own initiative, organizing and prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines.
