Education

Qualifications
  • One year of experience in the medical field preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of medical and billing procedures preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills required.
  • Ability to work efficiently and prioritize tasks in a high-volume practice.
  • Understanding of procedures related to managed care plans.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills, capable of dealing with diverse personalities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, willing to assist others.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and visitors professionally and courteously.
  • Register patients for scheduled visits, ensuring all demographic and insurance information is collected and entered accurately.
  • Scan and verify patient identification and insurance cards, benefits, and eligibility.
  • Verify managed care referrals as required by insurance.
  • Collect copays and outstanding balances.
  • Answer and direct phone calls promptly.
  • Provide coverage for colleagues during absences.
  • Maintain flexibility in scheduling and perform additional responsibilities to improve patient care.
  • Keep work area neat and handle difficult situations tactfully.
  • Schedule appointments and reconcile daily payments.
  • Participate in staff meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

No direct reports.

Language Skills

Proficiency in English, both verbal and written, is required for effective communication.

Physical Demands
