How you will make an impact

Opportunities are now available for experienced hospitality trained Food Services Assistants to join our Patient Food Service team on a casual basis and make a valuable contribution to the patient experience at Cabrini Health. This position predominantly assists with the menu ordering, preparation and service of all food and beverages to our patients.

Applicants need to be prepared to work a variety of shifts across a seven-day work week, including day and evening shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Key responsibilities will include:

Assisting patients with menu ordering

Preparation of food for our patients

Cleaning of kitchen and equipment

Providing service to patient rooms and associated areas

Working with other hospital team members to optimise the safety, care and overall experience of our patients

About you

Along with your commitment to providing excellent customer service to our patients, you will also have the following:

Food Handlers Certificate (or the willingness to undertake at Cabrini)

Knowledge of culinary and nutritional terminology including diet codes (preferable)

Experience in a food service industry or service industry of at least 12 months will be highly regarded

A willingness to learn and be given directives

Well-developed communication skills including proficiency in written and spoken English

A flexible approach to work and be adaptable in a fast paced environment

Effective interpersonal skills, combined with the ability to build positive and professional working relationships with patients and colleagues
