Job summary

Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Activity Co-ordinator for the Acorn Intermediate Care Unit to organise, initiate and supervise social interaction for patients preparing to return home or to a suitable discharge destination.

You will arrange individual and group activities, provide 1:1 social contact, liaise with families and external agencies, and support fundraising and workload management.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilitating patient-centered activities.
• Ability to run both 1:1 and group activities.
• Good communication with patients, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Arrange individual activities for patients and group activities.
• Provide 1:1 social contact with patients.
• Ensure a range of activities is available and used.
• Utilise resources for activities and engage groups.
• Organise social events with patients, relatives and staff.
• Liaise with external agencies and voluntary groups for post-hospital activity support.
• Assist with fundraising.
• Complete SOPs that do not require registered practitioners.
• Lead with unit leaders to improve patient experience.
• Manage workload and work on own initiative.
