Job summary

Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Catering Assistant to join our friendly team, delivering and serving meals to patients, staff and visitors, handling trolleys and maintaining hygiene. The role is part-time and requires working flexibly to cover colleagues on leave or sickness.

You will work in a busy hospital environment, gain NHS benefits, and contribute to delivering high standards of patient care and service.

Qualifications

• Basic Food Hygiene qualification or ability to achieve.
• Knowledge of cleaning and food handling procedures from on-the-job training.
• Experience in customer service, eg retail, catering, hospitality, office or call centre.
• Basic computer keyboard skills and strong communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and collect food trolleys to ward areas and serve meals to patients, staff and visitors.
• Assist with basic food preparation and operate dishwasher and cleaning duties.
• Support with kitchen and wash-up duties and maintain hygiene standards.
• Work flexible hours to cover colleagues during annual leave or sickness.
