Job summary

AstraZeneca plc seeks a Policy & Advocacy Manager, R&I to turn patient voices into policy change across research and innovation. You will develop policy strategies, engage patient groups and build coalitions to address access, equity and innovation in health systems.

Based in Cambridge, you will collaborate across global teams, translate lived experience into credible positions, and lead campaigns and governance to ensure impactful policy outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in patient advocacy, public affairs or healthcare policy.
• Proven ability to develop advocacy strategies targeted at policymakers.
• Track record building partnerships with patient groups or civil society.
• Ability to translate patient needs into clear policy messages.
• Experience managing complex stakeholder programmes.
• Experience in global, multi-country environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement patient-centred policy and advocacy strategies.
• Build trusted partnerships with patient groups and stakeholders.
• Design campaigns for policymakers and health leaders.
• Create policy briefs, positions and consultation responses.
• Monitor policy developments and provide strategic recommendations.
• Lead governance, budgets and risk for advocacy programmes.
• Collaborate across Global Corporate Affairs and other functions.
• Embed health equity in strategies and engagement.
