Job description

We are seeking to recruit a Medical Receptionist to join our successful Patient Care Advisory Team. This role is 25 hours per week however, there is overtime available based on business requirements.

Shift Patterns are:

8am - 1pm

1pm - 6pm

3pm - 8pm

Staff are expected to work across all four AMP Group sites, where possible. Immediate starts are available. Previous Reception experience isdesirable but not essential as training will be provided.

The ideal candidate would be a proactive individualwho can use their initiative. They will possess excellent interpersonal skillsand enjoy working with patients. We need a team player and someone who can beflexible in times of sickness and holidays.

The successful applicant must be IT literate and bewilling to undertake relevant training in order to improve their skills.

Duties will include meeting/greeting patients,receiving telephone calls, maintaining and updating confidential records viacomputerised systems and general administrative work associated with GeneralPractice.

Main duties of the job

Running an effective and efficient receptionservice

Dealing with all general enquiries

Receive and make telephone calls as required andtake messages

Action repeat prescription requests promptly

Registering patients on the on-line system

Dealing with the day to day running of the computersystem and entering patient information on to the computer

Opening mail and ensuring that all correspondenceis scanned and attached to patients computer records

Making sure the reception area is left tidy

Registering new patients promptly and accurately

About us

The organisation is run by a board including theMedical Director and a Senior Leadership Team. The Receptionist role is towork within a team carrying out administrative functions and working in the telephone hub.

We believe in general practice and not generalpractitioner and without a good strong team we could not operate and meet ourtargets and deadlines.
