Patient Administrator - Reception - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Salary £24,434.00 per year

St Edmunds Hospital in Bury St Edmunds is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Patient Administrator to join their team of staff in the Administration department.

This is a Full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

This role is for a Fixed Term of 12 Months to cover maternity leave.

Duties Of This Role Include

  1. Contribute to the smooth running of the patient administrative process throughout the patient journey.
  2. Ensure the Circle Health Group best practice process maps are followed, to provide an efficient, professional and standard service to all patients, visitors, consultants and staff.
  3. Ensure all patient queries are dealt with efficiently and professionally.
  4. Manage all incoming and outgoing mail.
  5. Approve electronic bookings received via the relevant system and update any booking received via email.
  6. Maintain knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act, ensuring appropriate measures are taken in respect of Health and Safety for patients, relatives, visitors, hospital staff and contractors.
  7. Comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria

  1. Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
  2. Proficient in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.
  3. Basic financial awareness.
  4. Previous administration experience in a private healthcare environment would be beneficial.
