The North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust is seeking a proactive Area Pathway Development Lead to innovate healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes across their operational areas. This role requires a registered healthcare professional with experience in pathway development, project management, and strong data analysis skills. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance clinical pathways and ensure effective healthcare service delivery.
Are you passionate about driving change, innovating healthcare delivery, and improving patient outcomes? At North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS), we're looking for a forward-thinking Area Pathway Development Lead to shape and implement community care pathways that ensure the right care, at the right time, in the right place—every time.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence clinical transformation across one of three NWAS operational areas. You’ll be a key member of our Urgent and Emergency Care leadership team, working alongside operational managers, clinical leadership teams, NHS Trusts, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), and other key partners.
Working for the Area Consultant Paramedic and alongside Sector Clinical Leads to identify, develop, and evaluate new and existing clinical pathways that improve patient experience and reduce avoidable hospital conveyance from 999 and NHS 111 services. As part of the recently published NHS 10 Year Plan, one of the core strategic principles is hospital to community, and Ambulance Services will need to enhance our work alongside integrated health & social care systems to ensure that our teams have access to the right routes of clinical referral that meet the needs of our patients.
The post will require a flexible approach to work, in a hybrid setting, across either Cheshire & Merseyside, Greater Manchester, or Cumbria & Lancashire.
North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24-hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.
Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.
We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.
Alongside the other emergency services, we work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.
We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24/7.
