Job description

The Pathology Team Coordinator provides essential administrative and coordination support to the Pathology Service, which includes but is not limited to Infection, TB, IPC, OPAT, and Histopathology services. This role involves supporting clinical teams with administrative duties, coordinating multidisciplinary team (MDT) activities, managing specimen retrieval and tracking, and ensuring efficient service delivery that directly supports patient care

Main duties of the job
  • General administrative support to Pathology consultants, resident doctors, clinical staff across pathology service areas and the Pathology Operational Manager.
  • Manage diary systems and coordinate meetings
  • Liaise effectively with other departments including laboratories, clinical teams, and support services
  • Support the coordination of multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) requiring pathology input, including retrieval of reports and specimens and from storage to ensure timely availability for clinical review
  • Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate in departmental meetings and taking the minutes

Education / Qualifications
  • GCSE English and Mathematics (Grade C or above) or equivalent
  • Relevant healthcare administration qualification
