Job summary

Sonic Healthcare UK in Glasgow is seeking a Pathology Lead to head a small team of Biomedical Scientists across Blood Transfusion, Haematology, Biochemistry and Microbiology. HCPC registered candidates with Band 7+ experience are preferred.

The role requires excellent communication, strong laboratory management skills and computer literacy; duties include leading daily operations at Ross Hall Hospital while maintaining quality standards and DBS clearance.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered and extensive experience at Band 7 level or above.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Fully computer literate and able to use laboratory information systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-discipline team across Blood Transfusion, Haematology, Biochemistry and Microbiology.
• Oversee on-site laboratory services for Ross Hall Hospital and Circle Healthcare partners.
• Ensure quality management standards and DBS clearance are met.

Salary range: Up to £71,150 per annum DOE

Due to the nature of work that Sonic Healthcare UK undertakes, our clients require that Employees filling certain roles, need, as part of their on-boarding to complete a DBS Check. This role falls into the category of requiring a DBS check (standard)
About the role:
This is an opportunity to lead a small team of multi discipline Biomedical Scientists covering the disciplines of Blood Transfusion, Haematology, Biochemistry and Microbiology. Experience in Blood Transfusion and Quality Management is desirable.
The department provides laboratory service to Circle Healthcare Ross Hall and Kings Park hospitals. Applicants should be HCPC registered and have extensive experience of laboratory science at Band 7 level or above. Applicants should also have excellent communication skills, both oral and written and be fully computer literate.
