Zusammenfassung

NHS Forth Valley invites applications for a support role in the Pathology Department at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. The appointee will carry out routine laboratory and administrative tasks under supervision.

Duties include processing specimens, operating equipment, providing technical support, mentoring staff, specimen reception and registration, tissue dissection support, staining, and participation in infertility and Andrology clinics.

Qualifikationen

• Requires working towards a minimum of a HND (or equivalent) in life sciences.
• Experience in NHS Pathology laboratory desirable.

Aufgaben

• Process a range of laboratory specimens following SOPs.
• Operate complex equipment in the Pathology lab.
• Provide technical support to scientific staff in the laboratory.
• Mentor less experienced support workers and trainee staff.
• Handle specimen reception, acceptance, and registration processes.
• Support during tissue dissection and tissue processing (embedding, sectioning, staining).
• Participate in patient consultations in Andrology and infertility clinics.
• Maintain general laboratory housekeeping and handle manual tasks as required.
