Pathology Coordinator

The Duchy Hospital in Harrogate is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Pathology Coordinator to join our team in the Pathology department.

This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week, requiring flexibility in shift patterns.

Responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing the daily coordination of pathology services, ensuring timely and accurate processing of diagnostic tests.
  • Coordinating with internal departments and external laboratories for test requests, collections, and result reporting.
  • Ensuring specimens are correctly labelled, packaged, and transported according to national guidelines.
  • Serving as the first point of contact for pathology-related inquiries from clinical staff, consultants, and laboratory providers.
  • Communicating results promptly to clinical teams and escalating urgent or abnormal results as needed.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with pathology service providers to ensure smooth operations.
Candidate requirements:
  • Previous experience in healthcare, laboratory, or diagnostic services environment.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for liaising with clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology and diagnostic processes.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively.
