Job description

At Compliance Group Electrical Ltd, we don’t hire you based on your job title. Titles can be misleading and rarely tell the full story of your skills and experience. Instead, we’re on the lookout for exceptional individuals who can demonstrate their expertise in the areas outlined below. You don’t need to tick every box; if you can confidently discuss some of the experience we’re after, then we’d love to hear from you. We won’t overlook talent just because your career path doesn’t follow a traditional trajectory.

What sets us apart is our commitment to seeing beyond your CV. We invest in people who are ready to grow with us and want to be part of a company that genuinely values their potential. Many organisations talk about growth, but we’ve already achieved significant milestones; we’d be thrilled to share our journey with you. Let’s start the conversation.

The role we’re hiring for is a PAT Operative who will join our team based in the Derby area. If you have experience in PAT testing, we'd love to hear from you. Ideally, you'll hold a City & Guilds 2377 qualification, but if not, don't worry; we offer in-house training. If PAT testing has always been a career path you're interested in, we'd still like to hear from you. We value not only your ability to deliver thorough, compliant PAT testing but also your commitment to providing professional, friendly service to our clients. A full UK Driving License is required, and DBS/security checks will be made. You may be required to work the occasional weekend depending on the business needs.

What you receive for joining us:

We’re looking to offer a salary of GBP28,571.40, working 45 hours per week. In addition, we offer lots of overtime, a company vehicle, mileage allowance, a mobile phone or tablet, a company pension, 23 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, testing equipment, and a uniform along with high street discounts.

Here’s a look at some of the things you’ll be doing:

  • You’re required to perform electrical testing and inspection of portable appliances to ensure that each item is safe to use, make fuse changes, plug replacements, and re-terminations where necessary.
  • Microwave Emissions testing is also required.
  • Data submission is an integral part of the role, and all appliance testing must be done under the Code of Practice, 5th edition.
  • You must be happy to travel, manage your time effectively, and provide a first-class client service.

Can you show experience in some of these areas:

  • Ideally, you’ll be qualified in City and Guilds 2377 or equivalent; if not, training will be given.
  • Have basic electrical knowledge and clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • A professional approach to work is a must with a strong desire to work efficiently and thoroughly.

Do you see yourself reflected in the description above? If so, we encourage you to submit your application today. Uncertain whether your skills align perfectly? Don't hesitate to apply regardless; we value candidates with diverse skill sets and will carefully consider all applicants.
