Job description

PAT tester (Portable Appliance Tester) required for a well-established client.

Coverage area: Somerset. A driving licence is essential.

Compensation includes: National Living wage + Bonus + Public transport pass + Expenses + Tools. Average salary: £28,000.

Full training provided with progression opportunities. Permanent role. Must pass a full enhanced DBS check.

Working hours: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Some weekend work, out-of-hours work, and time away from home (Monday to Friday) may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT) following the IET Code of Practice.
  • Ensure results meet client and accreditation standards.
  • Manage appliance testing in compliance with Health & Safety Regulations.
  • Liaise with customers to ensure efficient work completion with minimal disruption, including sites like schools, hospitals, hotels, and universities.
  • Use Microsoft Office and email to download and send weekly reports to the PAT team at Head Office.
  • Manage own schedule effectively; job schedules are arranged by the PAT team.
  • Maintain punctuality and adhere to start and finish times as directed.
  • Identify and address potential customer dissatisfaction issues, such as delays due to traffic, through good route planning.
