Andaz London Liverpool Street is seeking a Pastry Sous Chef to lead the pastry kitchen, delivering high-quality pastries, desserts, and afternoon tea in a fast-paced luxury setting.

You will develop teams, drive creativity, and uphold the hotel’s culinary standards while ensuring guest satisfaction across all pastry offerings.

• Contribute ideas for seasonal menus and new pastry offerings.
• Mentor junior pastry staff and support their growth.
• Manage stock, ordering, storage and waste control.

We are now looking for a Pastry Sous Chef to join our Culinary team.

About The Role

As Pastry Sous Chef, you will play an integral role in the pastry kitchen, delivering exceptional quality across all pastry, bakery, dessert, and afternoon tea offerings within the hotel.

Duties And Responsibilities Related To Pastry Sous Chef Role

• Supporting the Pastry Head Chef in the day-to-day management of the pastry kitchen.
• Guiding and motivating the pastry team to deliver exceptional quality, consistency, and presentation across all pastry offerings.
• Overseeing the preparation of pastry mise en place and ensuring smooth service delivery.
• Taking responsibility for the pastry operation in the absence of senior chefs.
• Contributing creative ideas towards seasonal menus, dessert concepts, and new pastry offerings.
• Producing high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods that consistently exceed guest expectations.
• Coaching, developing, and mentoring junior pastry colleagues to support their growth and progression.
• Managing stock levels, ordering, storage procedures, and waste control to support an efficient operation.
• Ensuring the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, equipment maintenance, and kitchen compliance are maintained at all times.
• Working collaboratively with Culinary and Food & Beverage teams to deliver memorable guest experiences while continuously developing your own skills and knowledge.

About You

You are a skilled pastry professional with experience as a Pastry Sous Chef or in a senior pastry role within a luxury hotel, high-volume kitchen, or premium hospitality environment. Combining strong technical expertise with creativity, you take pride in delivering exceptional products and guest experiences.
