Job description

We’re seeking a dedicated Confectionery Team Leader to join our team at the Leyton location. As a Confectionery Team Leader for the night shift, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our bakery during night hours. You will lead by example, overseeing production, maintaining quality standards, and fostering a positive working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the night shift operations according to production schedules.
  • Ensure adherence to strict food safety and quality standards.
  • Supervise and support bakery team members, delegating tasks effectively.
  • Develop and maintain staff rotas, ensuring adequate coverage.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members.
  • Prepare daily reports covering safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and personnel matters.

About you:

  • Qualifications: Minimum Food Safety Level 2 certification (Level 3 preferred). Formal confectionery/pastry qualifications are advantageous.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in a confectionery environment, with a focus on artisan or craft products. Supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and provide clear direction. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of artisan baking techniques, ingredients, and quality standards.
  • Communication skills: Able to lead by example, remain calm under pressure, and demonstrate accountability. Must be adaptable to a fast-paced, evolving environment and promote a positive, inclusive team culture.

This is a full-time position requiring night and weekend availability, totaling 44 hours across 4 days out of 7.
