Job summary

Stationers' Hall, a Grade I listed venue near St Paul’s Cathedral, London, is seeking a Pastry Chef to join Searcys. You will lead the dessert and pastry elements for high-end events across bespoke fine dining to large corporate occasions, working with the Head Chef and mentoring junior team members.

This role offers a 0-hour contract with an on-shift rate of £18 per hour, mostly Monday to Friday. Benefits include pension, up to 33 days holiday, staff discounts, meals on shift and opportunities

Qualifications

• Experience leading a pastry section or desserts for events.
• Proven ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple pastry runs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Head Chef on menu development and costing.

Searcys are looking for a Pastry Chef to Join the team at Stationers' Hall.

As a Pastry Chef in this venue, you will get a chance to create the finest quality of dishes and deliver exceptional culinary experiences for our guests. You will have a structured team, that you will work closely with to create high end, tailored events from bespoke fine dining dinners to large scale corporate parties and outdoor events.

Stationers' Hall is a Grade I listed building, close to St Paul's Cathedral. It is one of the few ancient Livery Halls remaining in the City of London. Completed in 1673 after the Great Fire of London, the Hall's suite of magnificent, inter-linking rooms as well as the secluded garden, make it one of the most sought after venues in the City for corporate events and Private Functions.

Job Description

At Stationers' Hall , you will be required to be adaptable as the venue is diverse and at any time will have multiple events happening across a number of floors. You will be supporting the Head Chef to manage the day to day service, whilst leading and mentoring the junior team to deliver high end events and exceptional quality food.

0-hour contract/variable - £18 per hour on shift system

Mostly Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities

• To have sole responsibility of all desserts and pastry for all events.
• To ensure the food remains to the highest quality and consistency across all events.
• To manage food and produce ordering by keeping a record of wastage, stock holding and any food cost concerns.
• To work with the Head Chef with the development and costing of menus, ensuring we are keeping up to date with the latest trends.
• To assist the other sections where necessary

Qualifications

• Very well organised and ability to prioritise work load
• Ability to work under pressure
• Excellent standards
• Experience in working in a 5 star hotel or Michelin star restaurant is desirable
• Able to work effectively as part of a team
• Attention to detail
• Strong communication skills
