ABOUT THE ROLE

We're seeking a talented pastry chef who thrives in a busy environment, with previous experience in a restaurant pastry section, and a passion for menu development and innovation. You should be a foodie, up-to-date with the latest food trends and techniques, while maintaining a strong foundation in traditional cooking.

SALARY AND HOURS

Salary: £40,000
Hours: Full-time, 48 hours per week

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare your section fully for the next day with fresh mise en place (MEP).
  • Execute all dishes according to menu specifications.
  • Manage your section efficiently and effectively during service.
  • Ensure compliance with kitchen audit requirements.
  • Assist and support fellow kitchen staff proactively.
  • Share your culinary knowledge and passion with junior team members.
  • Learn about ingredients and production processes.
  • Adhere to internal audit standards.
  • Report health and safety issues to your line manager.
  • Supervise junior chefs during service.
  • Maintain portion control following company guidelines.
  • Document new recipes and submit them to the Sous Chef.
  • Support testing for accurate costing and presentation standards.
  • Challenge and mentor junior chefs to uphold standards and improve skills.
  • Align your work with our purpose by fostering social and environmental responsibility, contributing to our B Corp journey, and supporting our sustainability vision.
  • Inspire and empower our community to live and work more consciously, creating a positive global impact.
