Job summary

St Francis Xavier's Catholic Academy in Liverpool is seeking a Head of Year (Non-Teaching) to provide high‑quality pastoral leadership for an allocated year group, promoting strong behaviour, attendance, safeguarding and personal development. You will be the first point of contact for student issues and coordinate wellbeing interventions to secure positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (grade 4-9) or equivalent
• Current First Aid qualification
• Relevant safeguarding qualification and/or training
• Safeguarding/Prevent qualification
• Inclusion/pastoral qualification
• Counselling/mental health/behaviour improvement qualification
• Degree or equivalent qualification

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality pastoral leadership for an allocated year group.
• Ensure strong behaviour, attendance, safeguarding awareness and personal development.
• Act as first response for everyday student issues and coordinate wellbeing interventions.
• Uphold the Catholic ethos of the academy and maintain professional standards.
