Job description

Pastoral Worker Secondary SEN School Full Time

At Remedy Education we are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Worker to join a dynamic and thriving Secondary SEN School in North London. You will be supporting pupils struggling with behavioural problems whilst liasing with key education professionals.

Role: 1-1 SEN Teaching Assistant

Start: ASAP

Location: Kentish Town, North London

Contract: Full time (Monday - Friday)

Interview: Paid Trial Day

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and guidance to students, promoting their emotional, social, and academic well-being.
  • Develop and implement individual pastoral care plans for students in need of additional support.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure a cohesive approach to student welfare.
  • Address behavioural issues and work on strategies to improve student behaviour and engagement.
  • Organise and lead small group sessions and one-on-one interventions to support students facing challenges.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a pastoral, counselling, or similar role within an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • A proactive and empathetic approach, with excellent problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications in education, counselling, social work, or a related field are desirable.
  • Additional training or certifications in child protection and safeguarding are advantageous.
