Job summary

Bradford College is recruiting a Pastoral Intervention Officer to support learners aged 14-16 in an Alternative Provision setting. The role focuses on 1:1 mentoring, group sessions, and targeted plans for students in Years 10 and 11 with SEMH/EBD/ASD needs.

You will work term-time, 37 hours/week across 40 weeks/year, engaging learners with a strong emphasis on safeguarding and inclusive practice. Interviews w/c 5 October.

Qualifications

• GCSE 4–9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths.
• GCSE 4–9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in English.
• Working knowledge of Safeguarding and Child Protection policies, procedures and legislation.

Responsibilities

• Receive and supervise students excluded from a normal timetable.
• Assist with development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour/Support/Mentoring plans.
• Set SMART targets to support student achievement.
• Refer to other support services as appropriate.
• Contribute to student progression and career plans.
• Develop 1:1 mentoring arrangements with students and provide support for distressed students.
• Provide information and advice to help students make learning decisions.
• Deliver tutorial PSHE to the whole cohort.
