Position Details:

  1. Start Date: September 2025
  2. Type: Permanent, Part Time – 35 hours/week
  3. Term: Term Time Only for 39 weeks/year (38 weeks + 5 INSETs)
  4. Salary: Grade 5 - £25,183 - £26,409 per annum (pro rata)
  5. Actual Salary: £20,581 - £21,583 per annum

About the Role:

John Taylor MAT seeks a committed, empathetic, and proactive individual to join its newest ‘all-through’ school in Rugeley. The school will serve local communities, providing a high standard of education from early years through sixth form, opening with Year 7 in September 2025.

The Pastoral Support Officer will help students with personal, social, developmental, and behavioural issues, supporting their potential both inside and outside the classroom. The role involves developing activities, implementing preventative strategies, and liaising with external agencies to monitor student progress.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience supporting young people in a multi-agency setting
  • Understanding of challenges faced by young people and a motivation to support change
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to go the extra mile
