Job summary

The Castle School, Taunton, Somerset, seeks a dedicated Pastoral Support Officer to join our pastoral team and support students’ emotional health and overall wellbeing.

You will help improve behaviour for learning, develop social skills, and work with staff to ensure students engage in all aspects of school life. First Aid duties may arise; full training is provided.

They will work as part of a Pastoral team to ensure that students are able to enjoy and fully participate in all areas of school life and reach their full potential.The successful candidate will have excellent organisation and interpersonal skills and will be a team player with strong empathy skills who is able to demonstrate initiative. A commitment and passion for working with young people and improving their life chances is essential. Applicants with experience of working in a school or similar organisation are very welcome but this is not essential as it is more important to have the right attributes and attitudes.In addition to the above, the postholder would help to provide First Aid in the absence of the Medical Lead or to assist at busy periods.
