About the role
The Pastoral Care Practitioner Grade 1 will be responsible for the delivery of high quality, culturally safe, person-centred spiritual and emotional care that addresses the needs of patients, families and staff.
Key responsibilities:
Working collaboratively with the Pastoral and Bereavement Service Team and multidisciplinary teams on assigned wards
Undertaking assessment of emotional, spiritual and religious needs and tailoring pastoral interventions accordingly
Completing accurate documentation in patient files and the Patient Administration System
Prepared to be ‘on-call’ on weekends as rostered
About You
You will be:
Warm and compassionate with experience in delivering pastoral care services in a hospital setting.
Able to respond to the diverse needs of people from faith/no faith backgrounds
Inclusive and approachable with excellent communication skills
Be an accredited Eucharistic Minister in the Catholic tradition (desirable)
Eligible for membership of Spiritual Care Australia
Proficient computer skills and competent in documentation and reporting requirements
Be confident in your knowledge and skills and open to further learning and professional development
You will have:
A tertiary qualification in theology or pastoral care or relevant field of studies
Supervised training in providing spiritual care (e.g. Clinical Pastoral Education)
