Job summary

Plumstead Manor School in the Royal Borough of Greenwich is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Officer to join the pastoral team. You will support Heads of Year in managing student welfare and maintaining high standards of behaviour.

You will monitor attendance, punctuality and behaviour for a cohort; develop pastoral support programmes; supervise detentions; provide restorative mediation; liaise with external agencies; participate in multidisciplinary forums.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification and Level 2 English & Maths are required.
• Desirable qualification relating to education, social work, mediation or youth work.
• Experience working with young people in Key stages 3, 4 or 5 and ICT competency.

Responsibilities

• Monitor attendance, punctuality and behaviour for a cohort and follow up as required.
• Develop and monitor pastoral support programmes for individual students.
• Support Heads of Year in handling behaviour incidents and supervise detentions.
• Provide restorative mediation for students individually and in groups.
• Liaise within the school and with external agencies to tailor support.
• Attend multidisciplinary forums such as TAC meetings.
• Help ensure accurate information for tracking welfare of students.
