Job summary

Springwell School is seeking a compassionate Pastoral Officer to support pupils with complex needs, ensuring medical, emotional and pastoral wellbeing in a safe, nurturing environment.

This role involves building strong relationships with pupils, handling confidential medical information, and acting as the primary first aider on site. You will work during term-time, 30 hours per week, contributing to a supportive school community and safeguarding practices.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Ensure all medical and personal information is accurate, up to date and confidential.
• Contribute to development and maintenance of individual health care plans.
• Act as the school’s main first aider to pupils and staff.
• Provide medical and emotional support to staff.
• Complete risk assessments for staff and pupils.
• Support management of pupils’ medical conditions in partnership with parents and carers.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pastoral Officer to join our specialist SEN school team. This is a vital role supporting pupils with a range of complex needs, ensuring their medical, emotional, and pastoral wellbeing is consistently met in a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Accountabilities

• Build and maintain positive, trusting relationships with pupils
• Ensure all medical and personal information is accurate, up to date and managed confidentially
• Contribute to the development, review and maintenance of individual health care plans
• Act as the school main first aider to pupils and staff
• Provide both medical and emotional support to staff
• Complete risk assessment for both staff and pupils
• Supporting effective management of pupils' medical conditions in school, working in partnership with parents carers

Salary from £23135 to £27000 per year
