A leading educational support organization is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Mentor to work in a secondary school in Leeds. The role involves providing emotional support and mentoring to students facing mental health challenges. Ideal candidates are graduates with counseling training, eager to gain experience before training for a teaching or psychology career. Immediate interviews are available for those ready to start ASAP or in September.
Are you a graduate with counselling training/qualifications and wish to work in a school setting as a Pastoral Mentor?
Do you have experience working with young people with Mental Health, Anxiety and maybe bereavement?
Perhaps you have a passion for pastoral support and mentoring students who need extra help away from the classroom?
You will support pupils on a 1:1 basis who are struggling with mental health, anxiety, and bereavement, focusing on pastoral and emotional support rather than academic achievement.
Your responsibilities include identifying causes and triggers of pupil issues, working on strategies to support individual pupils, and liaising with parents, carers, teachers, and colleagues to establish effective support plans.
We are working with schools eager to appoint talented, driven, and considerate graduates for this role. It is ideal for high-achieving, ambitious graduates seeking paid experience in education support roles before pursuing teaching training or educational psychology.
