Job description

Required to start in September 2025. 37 hours per week, term time, plus 5 days to be worked outside of term time in accordance with service requirements.

An experienced and qualified individual is required to work in partnership with Senior Staff, Heads of Year and Year Teams to provide pastoral support and guidance to develop effective strategies within school to promote personal development and pupil wellbeing.

The role will include intervention to provide high levels of pastoral care, managing behaviour issues and supporting high levels of academic attainment. This post requires a high level of communication skills and involves regular liaison with parents and outside agencies.

The role will also support the development of pupil leadership at the school including working closely with the school council and other pupil leadership groups.

The remit of this post means that the post holder is required to work outside of and in excess of the ‘normal’ school day e.g. parental meetings or interviews might take place before school i.e. 8.00 a.m, after school i.e. 4.30 p.m. and certainly a requirement to attend Parents’ Evenings.

You must have excellent organisational and time management skills; be able to work independently using your own initiative as well as part of a team. Effective communication skills and an awareness of Health and Safety issues are essential.
