We are working with one of our Outstanding partner schools in Sheffield to recruit a full-time Pastoral Manager to start in November 2025 on an ongoing basis. This is a critical role to lead and implement comprehensive student support strategies across the school.

The Role: Key Responsibilities

As Pastoral Manager, you will provide vital support and guidance to remove barriers to learning, enhance individual potential, and raise aspirations.

Pastoral Leadership & Strategy

• Safeguarding and Child Protection: Maintain expert knowledge, manage complex case files, and adhere strictly to all safeguarding policies, making appropriate referrals when necessary.

• Team Leadership: Support and manage the pastoral team and other staff to effectively achieve well-being targets.

• Crisis & De-escalation: Calmly manage immediate student welfare crises, emotional outbursts, and behavioural incidents.

• Intervention & Mentoring: Arrange and develop 1:1 mentoring with identified students, providing specialist support for distressed individuals.

• Transition Support: Actively support students through successful transitions to each key stage.

Data, Communication & Administration

• Data Analysis: Utilise information from Arbor (the school's MIS) and other sources (attendance, behaviour, rewards) to identify students in need of specific support.

• Stakeholder Communication: Establish productive relationships and communicate professionally and sensitively with students, parents, Key Stage Leaders, and teaching staff.

• Inter-Agency Liaison: Collaborate effectively with external services, such as CAMHS, Social Services, and the Police.

• Case Management: Maintain meticulous, confidential records and monitor/evaluate student progress against individual support plans.
