Job summary
Search Consultancy is seeking a QA Inspector / Technical Assistant to join a passive fire protection contractor in Hutton, Essex. You will carry out QA inspections of firestopping and compartmentation works, sign off remedial works and assess installer competency.
This role offers £40,000 - £50,000 DOE and a permanent, 40-hour week. You'll provide technical support to operations, deliver toolbox talks, support FIRAS audits and ISO compliance, and help develop project-specific passive fire
Qualifications
- Experience within passive fire, firestopping, compartmentation, QA or compliance.
- Strong understanding of firestopping systems, manufacturer details and industry standards.
- Experience carrying out inspections, snagging or quality checks.
- Confidence working directly with installers and clients.
- Strong reporting and organisational skills.
- Level 3 qualification or relevant trade background.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out QA inspections of firestopping and compartmentation works
- Inspecting installations and signing off remedial works
- Assessing installer competency and supporting improvement plans
- Delivering toolbox talks and technical briefings
- Supporting FIRAS audits and ISO compliance
- Completing pre-commencement site audits
- Advising on suitable passive fire products and systems
- Providing technical support to operational teams
- Contributing to project-specific passive fire solutions
- Preparing accurate O&M information on project completion
