Job summary

Firespec Ltd is seeking an experienced Passive Fire Protection Inspector to join the growing inspections team in the UK. You will lead inspections across new and existing buildings, ensuring installations meet essential fire safety standards.

UK-wide travel and regular overnight stays are required. The role combines field-based inspections with detailed reporting and collaboration with project teams to address compliance issues.

Qualifications

  • Pass-ive fire protection inspection knowledge and experience is essential.
  • Ability to assess installations against current standards and legislation.
  • Strong report writing and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect passive fire protection installations across various building types.

  • Identify non-compliant workmanship and defects.
  • Produce clear, accurate inspection reports.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors and project teams to resolve issues.
  • Suggest remedial solutions and maintain professional approach on projects.

Full-time | Permanent | Site / Field-based

Do you have strong technical knowledge of passive fire protection systems? Are you ready to take ownership of inspections that help ensure buildings meet essential fire safety standards?

The role

Firespec Ltd is looking for an experienced Passive Fire Protection Inspector to join its growing inspections team.

This is more than a routine site inspection position. You will help clients achieve safe, compliant and technically sound fire protection installations across new and existing buildings throughout the UK.

UK-wide travel and regular overnight stays are required.

Key responsibilities
  • Inspect passive fire protection installations across a range of building types
  • Assess fire protection measures against current legislation, standards and industry guidance
  • Identify non-compliant workmanship and installation defects
  • Produce clear, accurate and professional inspection reports
  • Work with clients, contractors and project teams to address compliance issues
  • Support teams in identifying suitable remedial solutions
  • Maintain a professional and solutions-focused approach on every project

The person
  • Previous passive fire protection inspection, supervision or installation experience
  • Strong knowledge of passive fire protection systems and installation methods
  • An IFE Level 2 or Level 3 qualification, or equivalent
  • A professional qualification or trade-specific CSCS card
  • Knowledge of current legislation, standards and technical guidance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Flexibility to travel and stay away overnight
  • Previous consultancy or inspection experience and additional industry accreditations would be beneficial.
