Job summary

Building Careers UK Ltd is seeking a Passive Fire Estimator for the St Helens office. You will price tenders across fire stopping, compartmentation and maintenance contracts, ensuring labour, materials, plant and preliminaries are fully accounted for.

Ideal candidates will have proven estimating experience in passive fire protection, strong commercial judgment, and the ability to work with suppliers, subcontractors and QS teams to deliver robust pricing and successful tenders.

Qualifications

• Proven estimating experience within passive fire protection.
• Strong ability to price tenders and understand labour, materials and preliminaries.
• Excellent numerical and commercial awareness.

Responsibilities

• Price tenders for fire stopping, compartmentation and maintenance contracts UK-wide.
• Review drawings, surveys, specifications and tender docs to scope works.
• Complete accurate take-offs and quantify labour, materials and installation.
• Build up detailed rates for labour, materials, plant, access equipment and preliminaries.
• Obtain supplier and subcontractor quotations for competitive pricing.
• Attend site visits and pre-tender/client meetings.
• Identify commercial risks, exclusions, scope gaps and opportunities.
• Prepare clear, detailed and robust tender submissions.
• Hand over tenders to Contracts Team with pricing basis.
• Review completed projects against estimates with QS team.
• Maintain estimating records and manage multiple enquiries.
