As the Year 1 class teacher you will play a key role in supporting children as they transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1. You will plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across the curriculum establish strong routines and ensure children make excellent progress both academically and socially.
You will be working alongside a parallel Year 1 teacher and supported by a dedicated teaching assistant to help implement effective teaching strategies and interventions.
The ideal candidate will be:
A fully qualified teacher with QTS (Early Career Teachers and experienced teachers are both welcome to apply)
Knowledgeable about the Key Stage 1 curriculum with particular insight into early reading phonics (preferably Read Write Inc. or similar) and child development
A caring and creative classroom practitioner who is passionate about early education
Organised reflective and committed to continuous improvement
Skilled in behaviour management and classroom routines appropriate for younger pupils
Able to foster positive relationships with children parents and colleagues
A warm inclusive and wellresourced environment in which to teach and learn
Enthusiastic and wellbehaved pupils who enjoy school
A strong focus on worklife balance and staff wellbeing
Collaborative planning with parallel class teachers
A leadership team that is supportive approachable and committed to staff development
