Job summary

Hampshire County Council's Passenger Transport Team is seeking a practical, self-motivated individual to join its Local Bus Infrastructure Team. Based across Hampshire, you will survey bus stop facilities, identify improvements, and install assets such as timetable cases, flags and poles, carrying out minor maintenance.

You'll work with contractors and suppliers to deliver upgrades, ensure accessibility and safety compliance, and contribute to a friendly, inclusive workplace that values health

Qualifications

  • Experience of hands-on maintenance or manual tasks requiring attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong awareness of health and safety standards and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Survey bus stop infrastructure and identify required improvements.
  • Plan and install assets such as timetable cases, flags and poles.
  • Carry out minor maintenance works and coordinate with suppliers.
  • Ensure installations meet accessibility standards and legislation.

Job description

As a member of the Passenger Transport Team, you will work in a small team delivering upgrades to bus stop infrastructure at a variety of locations on Hampshire's local bus network and to support the local bus infrastructure team with relevant tasks., As part of Hampshire's Local Bus Infrastructure Team, you'll help improve and maintain bus stop facilities across the county. The role includes surveying bus stop infrastructure, identifying and planning required improvements, installing new assets such as timetable cases, flags and poles, and carrying out minor maintenance works. You'll also work closely with contractors and suppliers to deliver infrastructure upgrades and ensure all installations meet accessibility standards and relevant legislation, helping to provide a safe, accessible and high-quality experience for bus passengers., We are a Disability Confident Employer - committed to ensuring that our recruitment and selection process is inclusive and accessible.
