About the role

We have an exciting new opportunity for an individual to join our Parts department at our Shefford Woodlands depot (near Hungerford, Berkshire). You will be an integral part of the team and will use our innovative tools and technology to provide a first-class service to our customers.

Your main duties will include:

  • Taking delivery of goods and supplies, ensuring that you check for damaged or missing items and that any issues are reported immediately
  • Ensuring parts for customers and the workshop are correctly labelled and located
  • Ensuring all stock parts are stored neatly for maximum efficiency ensuring health and safety requirements are met
  • Assisting customers both face to face and over the telephone, fulfilling orders from stock and placing orders as necessary
  • Advising customers on substitution or modification of parts
  • Actively promoting and selling parts/new equipment to meet customer needs
  • Demonstrating goods to customers and explaining the functionality of equipment
  • Receiving payment/obtaining credit authorisation
  • Marking and storing parts in stockrooms according to our system
  • Processing returned parts from the workshop where necessary, inputting the details into the system, removing the parts from the job ready for supplier return or re-stocking

About You

The role will suit someone with Parts experience, ideally in the Agricultural or Golf & Turf industry (though other industries will be considered) or someone with a farming/agricultural back ground who is familiar with the industry, machinery and terminology.

Skills required

  • Knowledge and understanding of Golf & Turf/Agricultural/Plant/HGV machinery or similar is essential
  • Previous experienced of working within a John Deere or other machinery dealership is preferred
  • Previous Parts experience is preferred
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills with a confident telephone manner
  • Very strong IT skills with the ability to quickly familiarise yourself with new software and systems
  • Must have the ability to self-motivate and work individually, managing your own workload and also able to work as part of a team.

The Benefits:

Our excellent package includes a competitive basic annual salary of £28k - £35k dependent on experience, discretionary performance related bonus, up to 25 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays), pension scheme, free financial planning service and on-going training.

Hours of work are 8am - 5/5.30pm Monday to Friday plus 8am - 12pm Saturday mornings on a rota basis. There may also be times when additional hours are required/flexibility with hours worked is required, particularly during Harvest.
