Job summary

CPL is seeking a Parts Inventory Planner in Crawley on an initial 12-month contract with hybrid working (2 days onsite per week). You will manage parts inventory and availability, minimise shortages and optimise stock levels using SAP, Power BI and advanced Excel skills.

This analytical role requires forecasting experience, strong data skills and the ability to collaborate across Service, Technical Support, Sales and other teams to drive continuous improvement in inventory management.

Qualifications

  • Experience in inventory planning, supply chain, logistics, order processing or spare parts management.
  • Strong understanding of inventory and demand planning techniques.
  • Experience using ERP and supply planning systems, ideally SAP.
  • Strong knowledge of Power BI and Advanced Excel.
  • Experience with Power Query and SQL.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement inventory planning strategies to optimise stock levels and ensure parts availability.
  • Analyse demand, consumption patterns and inventory levels to identify potential shortages or excess stock.
  • Work closely with Service, Technical Support, Sales and other internal teams to forecast demand.
  • Review and maintain inventory parameters including safety stock, order quantities and lead times.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts and monitor supplier performance.
  • Identify supply or inventory risks and take action to minimise operational impact.
  • Produce regular inventory reports, dashboards and analysis highlighting metrics and trends.
  • Use data to support inventory optimisation, planning decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and planning records across relevant systems.
  • Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and international teams.
  • Support wider logistics, order processing and import/export activities where required.

Location: Crawley – Hybrid (2 days onsite per week)

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Parts Inventory Planner to join a global organisation on an initial 12-month contract.

You will be responsible for managing parts inventory and availability, ensuring optimum stock levels are maintained while minimising shortages, excess inventory and disruption to operations.

This is a highly analytical role requiring strong experience across inventory planning, demand forecasting and supply chain, alongside excellent systems and data skills including SAP, Power BI, Advanced Excel, Power Query and SQL.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement inventory planning strategies to optimise stock levels and ensure parts availability.

Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience within inventory planning, supply chain, logistics, order processing or spare parts management.
  • Strong understanding of inventory and demand planning techniques.
  • Experience using ERP and supply planning systems, ideally SAP.
  • Strong knowledge of Power BI and Advanced Excel.
  • Experience with Power Query and SQL.
  • Strong data manipulation, analysis and reporting capability.
  • Experience monitoring stock levels, demand, lead times and inventory performance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Confident communicator who can work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Proactive, resilient and comfortable working autonomously within a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement, compliance and customer service.
  • Experience within spare parts inventory and demand management.
  • Commercial or logistics experience.
  • Import/export compliance knowledge.
  • Experience working within a large international organisation and across different cultures.
  • Flexibility to undertake occasional UK or international business travel.
