Job summary

Venture Engineering Ltd is seeking a proactive Parts Controller to manage the receipt, storage, and issue of engineering components across manufacturing operations. You will ensure accurate stock records in the ERP/MRP system and support traceability throughout production.

The role covers BOM kitting, stock control, and collaboration with Purchasing, Production, Design and Project Management to meet project schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience in parts, stores or inventory roles within engineering/manufacturing.
• Experience with Bills of Materials (BOMs) and production orders.
• Excellent attention to detail and high accuracy in handling components.
• Good computer literacy, including MS Office.
• Counterbalance forklift licence preferred or willingness to undertake training.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming engineering components and materials against POs and docs.
• Book components into the ERP/MRP system with correct quantities, part numbers and locations.
• Maintain traceability of components through receipt, storage, production and dispatch.
• Kit components against BOMs and production orders to support manufacturing.
• Issue components to Production, Fabrication and Assembly and record stock movements.
• Identify and organise parts using part numbers, labels and project references.
• Carry out cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies.
• Monitor availability against production and project requirements and flag shortages.
• Collaborate with Purchasing to update delivery statuses and resolve supply issues.
• Coordinate with Production, Design and Project Management on upcoming needs.
• Manage movement of components to subcontract suppliers for external processes.
• Ensure proper handling, packaging and storage to prevent damage or loss.
• Prepare components for internal movement, subcontract processing and dispatch.
• Maintain records of goods received/issued/returns/transfers/adjustments.
• Support continuous improvement in parts control and stock accuracy.
• Maintain a clean, safe parts area and operate material handling equipment when qualified.
