Role Overview: Partner Sales Engineer (PSE)

The PSE collaborates with Channel Account Managers, providing technical enablement, product demonstrations, solution recommendations, and developing custom solutions. They act as a product evangelist, educating partners on features, use cases, implementation, development patterns, and best practices. The PSE demonstrates solutions in virtual and live meetings and supports Channel Account Managers throughout partner relationships.

What You’ll Do
  • Educate partner prospects and existing partners on BigCommerce products and development through analysis, demonstrations, presentations, and front-end development.
  • Lead activities to enable partners on new platform features, products, and use cases.
  • Provide pre-sales technical consulting to help partners understand how to solve merchant customizations, unlocking more TAM and driving deal registrations.
  • Assist partners in identifying and consulting on scalable solutions and integrations to address feature gaps.
  • Gather and present feedback to represent agency partner platform needs to our Product and Engineering teams.
  • Educate partners on ecommerce best practices, recommendations, and integrations.
  • Develop solutions to solve problems and propose innovative ideas to improve the partner program.
  • Collaborate with Channel Account Managers, Agency Leadership, and partners to create scalable content for self-service enablement, especially for smaller partners.
Who You Are
  • At least 2 years of Sales/Solutions Engineering experience within a SaaS platform or ecommerce organization.
  • Skilled in solution architecting, project scoping, and product demonstrations.
  • Experience with commerce solutions such as POS, product catalogs, order management, ERP, and payment gateways is preferred.
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • A problem solver and strong cross-functional collaborator with technical skills.
  • Training in sales methodology and solution selling is a plus.
  • Flexible to travel domestically or internationally up to 50% as needed.
