Job description

Retire the ERP

Light exists to replace factory-era ERPs with software that feels alive. Our Smart Financial Platform gives modern, global companies superpowers - automated accounting, real-time reporting, and financial flows that move at the speed of the business.

We build with our customers, ship fast, and obsess over craft. In a short time, Light has gone from idea to the operating core for leading companies like Lovable, Legora, and Fuse Energy.

We're an early team defining a new software category. Think engineers who love debits and credits, designers who care about reconciliation states, and operators who treat finance as a product. If you're excited to modernise how companies run money, you're in the right place.

Backed by world-class investors including Balderton and Atomico and advised by industry titans, we're building category-defining products with the freedom to ship ambitiously and own outcomes. Come help us make Light the global default for next-gen finance.

About the role

Light doesn't implement Light alone anymore. Accounting and consulting firms, from regional champions to global names, are building Light implementation practices, and someone has to make their people as good at implementing Light as we are. That's you.

You'll be the product expert at the centre of Light's partner programme. You train partner teams, certify them, sit beside them on their first client deliveries, and stay their expert lifeline as they scale. Your audience is partner implementation teams and the leaders who run them, plus their clients' Financial Controllers, Finance Directors, and CFOs on joint deliveries. Senior, technical, time-poor. They expect you to keep up on multi-entity accounting, consolidation, intercompany, multi-currency, and statutory reporting, and to tell them straight when an approach won't work.

No two partners look the same. Every activation brings questions without a textbook answer: a consolidation edge case on a partner's client, a migration shape the playbook doesn't cover, a delivery habit that needs rebuilding before it can be certified. You'll work the problem, teach the answer, capture it in the curriculum, and move on to the next one. The difference from pure delivery work: you don't ship one implementation, you make many happen through others.

Key responsibilities
  • Be the product expert: know every corner of Light, demo any workflow credibly, and answer the hard configuration and accounting questions partners bring you. Partners implement Light well because you made them able to
  • Own partner activation end to end, from first product deep-dive to Light-certified status and beyond
  • Deliver the training curriculum: product deep-dives, implementation methodology, data migration, and live day-in-the-life sessions
  • Run shadow and reverse-shadow cycles on real work, grade readiness honestly, and gate certification on it
  • Sit alongside partners on their first client deliveries and hold the quality to Light's bar
  • Coach partners on translating finance requirements into platform design: chart of accounts, entity structure, consolidation logic, reporting
  • Spot partner deliveries going off-track before the client does, and intervene
  • Push back on partner shortcuts that won't work, and bring them with you
  • Build the enablement library as you go: curriculum, playbooks, templates, and recordings, so every question you answer once becomes reusable material
  • Feed what partners surface back into the product and the programme
Experience & qualifications
  • Degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field
  • 5+ years in finance transformation, ERP implementation, or finance advisory: Big 4, a finance-focused boutique, or a vendor-side professional services team (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Workday Financials). Time spent training, enabling, or leading other consultants is a strong signal
  • You are fluent in accounting and can hold your own with a Controller on multi-entity consolidation, intercompany eliminations, accrual accounting, statutory vs management reporting. Qualified accountant is a plus, not a requirement
  • You teach as well as you deliver: you can explain a complex product or accounting concept so it sticks, whether the room holds a partner associate or a client CFO
  • You bring structure to messy programmes: clear plans, sharp prioritisation, and the judgement to know which details matter and which don't
  • You excel at building trust with partner leadership and client finance teams through clear communication and consistent delivery
  • You are comfortable working cross-functionally, and through people who don't work for Light at all: partners deliver, you make them able to
  • You diagnose implementation issues quickly and deliver practical solutions that balance partner autonomy, customer needs, and technical feasibility
  • You've done the work you'll teach: hands-on roles on real implementations, vendor-side, consulting-side, or customer-side. Not "I've used an ERP". Owning a go-live end to end yourself is a strong plus, not a prerequisite
  • You use AI tools daily, and have specific opinions on where they help in delivery and enablement work and where they don't
  • Fluent English; additional European languages a plus, German especially
  • Bonus: a go-live with your name on it as the accountable lead; multi-jurisdiction experience (IFRS, US GAAP, local GAAPs); experience building a training or certification programme; experience losing a customer or missing a go-live and learning from it
You’ll probably struggle here if
  • You need to hold the pen on every delivery. The whole job is making other people great at the work: you multiply, you don't hoard
  • You've only ever implemented one ERP, or only ever one customer at a time. You'll be enabling several partner teams simultaneously
  • You need a PMO, a mature methodology, or a big delivery org around you to operate. You'll be operating in a startup environment; ownership and self-direction are key
  • You think training means reading slides to a room. Ours runs demo, shadow, reverse shadow, grade, and nobody touches client work before green
  • You can't give a concrete example of telling a senior customer, or a senior partner, "no" and making it stick
  • You've used ChatGPT once and weren't impressed. We go all in on AI at Light and need people just as passionate about it!
The good stuff

In addition to being part of a great team and working in a really fun and innovative environment, we offer:

  • A competitive salary + potential stock options
  • Generous package of paid annual leave + public holidays
  • Regular socials and company off-sites (last time was in Piemonte, next time is in Provence)
  • A huge opportunity for career growth as you'll help shape a market-defining motion
The famous last words

Working at Light means you're embarking on an exciting journey to reshape the future of multinational financial operations. Our cheat-code is that we've built something like this before - and are now doing it again, only better. Our goal is to make global finance effortless and empower companies to make informed decisions.
