This is a senior leadership role offering the chance to influence strategic direction, manage a high-value portfolio, and play a pivotal part in shaping the future of the practice.

As Partner Designate, you’ll oversee a significant client portfolio, providing strategic financial, tax, and operational advice to a broad range of clients – from SMEs to larger, complex organisations.

This is a client-facing, commercially focused leadership position that blends technical excellence with business development, people leadership, and operational strategy.

Role Responsibilities

Leading service delivery for complex or high-value clients, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met
Acting as a strategic advisor, offering proactive guidance on financial, regulatory, and operational matters
Developing and maintaining long-term client relationships, identifying opportunities for additional support and advisory services
Mentoring and developing senior managers and managers, ensuring strong engagement, performance, and succession planning
Overseeing technical work, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP (FRS 102), tax legislation, and internal quality standards
Contributing to business development through networking, client referrals, proposals, and tenders
Driving operational efficiency and supporting firm-wide improvement initiatives
Managing budgets, recovery rates, and commercial performance within your portfolio

Candidate Requirements

ACA or ACCA qualified with at least five years of post-qualification experience in practice
Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients with confidence and commercial awareness
Strong technical skills across accounts, tax and business advisory
A track record of leading teams and developing junior staff
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a client-focused approach
Ambition to progress to full partnership and contribute to the long-term growth of the firm
