Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a part-time Primary Mental Health Worker within the under-18 Wellbeing team for Suffolk Early Intervention CAMHS, covering East and Central localities for 12 months. The role focuses on advice, support and brief interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties, plus training for schools and professionals.

You will join a multi-disciplinary team and act as the named link for a group of schools, bringing

Qualifications

• Appropriate professional qualification in nursing, social work or occupational therapy.
• Registered nurse on Parts 1, 3, 5 or 13 of the NMC Register (if nursing).
• Experience within a specialist CAMHS setting.
• Clinical supervision experience or willingness to provide supervision.

Responsibilities

• Undertake assessments and direct work with children, young people and families, managing a caseload.
• Offer consultation and training for schools and professionals.
• Facilitate groups for parents and support therapeutic groups for children and young people.
• Present webinars on children's mental health.
• Work within a multi-disciplinary team including wellbeing practitioners, therapists and counsellors.
• Act as named Primary Mental Health Worker for a group of schools.
• Travel across Suffolk for meetings and training.
