Job description

We know that life can be complicated for everybody. But some of us are stopped from working towards our dreams. Many learning disabled people won’t be heard about the support they’d like. Some won’t get to decide what they do for work. Or how to spend or save their money. Many won't get to try out the new hobbies they’d love to try.

But you can change all that.

Join our growing Waking Night team in Edenbridge, and get all the training you need to become a confident Support Worker.

Do you feel like our values - Kind, Diverse, Positive and Visionary - are a good match to your values? Then we’ve got lots in common already. Come on board and support learning disabled adults with those very values to develop skills, achieve their life goals and thrive in your community.

Waking night support workers are required to remain awake throughout the night to support individuals as required. As a Waking Nights Support Worker, you will support individuals throughout the night to ensure they are comfortable and safe.

What we offer you

  • Type of service – Supported Living - supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Location – Philippines Close, Edenbridge, Kent, TN8 5GN
  • Salary information – £14.04 per hour (£12.77 basic rate + 10% Waking Nights premium)
  • Working hours – Waking Nights 10pm- 7am
  • Up to 20% bank holiday allowance
  • Generous Holidays: 33 days of annual leave (including eight days statutory bank holidays).

  • Training & development: Earn money while you get a fully funded Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care.

What you’ll be doing

Every day is different. You may be supporting someone to plan their weekly shop, going on an outdoor adventure, providing everyday personal care, or supporting someone to go to their favourite gig. You could be building someone’s confidence in using public transport or teaching money management skills. What’s important is supporting people to discover new interests, achieve new goals and maintain important relationships with their family and friends.

You’ll provide the highest possible standard of care and support for learning disabled adults. Listening to their wants and needs, enabling people to do daily tasks such as taking medication, cooking a meal, or working with them to build their confidence and take on new adventures they are longing for. All this while working a variety of shifts to support your work and home life balance.

Public transport to our service here is limited so it would be great if you had a driving licence and access to a car, or are able to get help getting to and from the service.

We can’t wait to meet you at our Edenbridge services!

Find your place with us and change lives.
