Do you have previous experience in the food service industry and are looking for a change? Join Chadwick Lodge as a Vocational Support Worker and make a difference in the lives of people with mental health conditions.

As a Vocational Support Worker, you will support the daily operations of the Silver Lining café/shop, run by service users. Your role includes working alongside service users, providing training, support, and supervision to promote skill development and satisfaction.

Working 16 hours a week, you will collaborate with the vocational lead, service users, and the team to plan menus, support food-based events, and contribute to training courses and projects aimed at promoting wellbeing and skills development.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, supported regionally, with access to training and online courses for your professional growth.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning menus and sourcing ingredients in line with café ethos.
• Developing and leading the production of food products for sale.
• Delivering professional customer service.
• Building relationships with customers, staff, and suppliers.
• Coordinating staffing to ensure smooth café operations.
• Facilitating cooking courses and providing individual training and induction for new staff.
• Supporting service users in their recovery goals.
• Maintaining records and updating healthcare records accurately.

Qualifications and skills required:

• Experience in a similar environment and mental health.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Level 3 food hygiene certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Experience in the food service industry.
• Ability to support and supervise a team.
• Interest or knowledge of dietary requirements.
• Ability to mentor and develop workers' skills and confidence.

The role involves working at Chadwick Lodge and Eaglestone View, providing specialist treatment for detained service users with complex mental health needs and a history of offending behavior.
