Position Overview

In the heart of North London next to the River Lea is our popular first‑opinion Tottenham practice. They are looking for a veterinary surgeon to take the helm on a part‑time basis.

We are looking for a like‑minded colleague committed to the team, clients and animals. The support team includes an amazing senior nurse and the practice has a dependable vibe despite some areas needing TLC.

About Your New Role

This is an Associate position with a manageable caseload for a confident GP first‑opinion vet. Your Friday will allow you to balance morning consultations, perform routine surgeries, catch up on admin and finish evening consults, with an additional overlap day providing a chance to discuss cases.

The role involves an average of 20 hours per week, with Friday as a fixed day (possible early finish or late start on an additional day TBD), plus a 1:4 branch Saturday morning and 1:8 Hospital Sunday rotation.

As a branch vet you will receive rota up to 2 bank holidays per year in Wanstead Hospital and be included in the last resort on‑call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out consultations, thoroughly examining all pets presented and making management and treatment recommendations based on best practice and evidence‑based protocols.
• Perform surgery on cases as appropriate and within boundaries of personal competence and overnight care limitations.
• Maintain, prescribe and dispense all medications in accordance with current legislation and RCVS guidance.
• Record accurate and thorough clinical notes and ensure pets’ histories are accurate, comprehensive and useful to colleagues.
• Refer cases in a timely manner, first to a GVG Hospital if unable to undertake a case.
• Help maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment.
• Work alongside the RVN to schedule branch meetings and ensure SOPs are being actioned.
• Oversee consulting and surgical/diagnostic diary compliance with company policies.

You will be fully supported by our highly experienced regional manager and regional head vet. You will also be supported by Wanstead 24‑hour hospital for complex case referrals and OOH care through a rotating night team.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary band for this sole charge role is £45,000 to £72,000 FTE (Full‑Time Equivalent based on 40 hours) depending on prior experience.
