Job summary

London Hire Community Services is seeking a Vehicle Valeter for a 20-hour-per-week, part-time role based in Erith. You will prepare vehicles for London hire, inspect new arrivals, and maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety checks and documentation.

The role requires a full UK driving licence, strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. You will work as part of the Rental team, supporting daily operations and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Excellent attention to detail is essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles for delivery to customers, ensuring documentation and cleanliness; check for defects and confirm safety equipment is installed.
• Check in new vehicles against documentation and the New Vehicle Acceptance Sheet.
• Inspect and check vehicles returned from hire.
• Record all collected/returned vehicles in the daily diary and complete required documentation.
• Carry out minor repairs and visual checks (fluids, tyres).
• Clean vehicles prior to delivery.
• Liaise with visiting contractors and ensure site safety rules are followed.
• Arrange for defective equipment to be repaired.
• Ensure issued equipment is used and maintained per Health and Safety rules.
